Sainsbury's stores in Milton Keynes recall vegan food product that accidentally contains meat

The 'vegan' product contains milk as well as meat which makes the dish a health risk for anyone with an allergy.

Sainsbury’s vegan 'Love Your Veg Butternut Squash and Lentil Lasagne' has been reported to contain Milk, Pork and Beef that are not declared on the packaging.

The specific product being recalled has an SKU 7978371 and a use by date of Saturday 17th July.

The product has been incorrectly packed with Sainsbury’s Bolognese Melt and customers are being urged to return them to their nearest Sainsbury's supermarkets.

Customers are told to return the product to their closest Sainsbury's store for a full refund, or contact the Sainsbury's careline on 0800 636 262.

In a statement on their website, Sainsbury's have said: "No other Sainsbury’s products have been affected by this issue. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause."
