Restoration works across Milton Keynes' redway network to start this week

Milton Keynes has over 200 miles of shared-use paths, known as redways, which are used by thousands of people each day.

With this constant use comes inevitable damage, and residents are encouraged to report problem areas to The Highways Department of Milton Keynes Council.

Ringway, which is contracted by the council to look after the town's highways network, will be carrying out restoration works across the redway network visiting various sites across Milton Keynes.

The council's Highways Team has identified the key areas that require work, with the first starting today (11/9) on the Brickhill Street redway that runs through Blakelands and Tongwell.

Due to the volume of redways on Ringway's list, it is likely that restoration works will continue towards Christmas. Some sites are currently undergoing surveys but MKFM will share the latest information as we get it.

Here are some of the problem areas that you can report to the council:

    • Road surface defects e.g. potholes
    • Missing or broken paving slabs
    • Damaged or dislodged kerbs
    • Cracked redway surface
