Residents can help create the ‘Anthem for Milton Keynes’ this Saturday

    Music loving guests are invited to experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, where they will be able to work alongside the musicians of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to create a brand-new anthem for Milton Keynes.

    This Saturday 26th March, guests are being invited to try out instruments and help create music and lyrics for the new song in celebration of the Women’s UEFA Euro 2022 football tournament this summer.

    The event will be hosted in Middleton Hall, outside John Lewis from 10am to 4.30pm.

    Kevin Duffy, centre director said of the event “With just 100 days to go until Milton Keynes host four of the Women’s EURO games, (including the semi-final), we are excited to be welcoming musicians from the World-renowned Philharmonic Orchestra, to create an iconic anthem for people to sing during the Euro’s.

    "We’ve seen from previous events that our guests love to get involved with creative projects and think this musical event will be no exception”.

    The 2022 UEFA Women's Euro, which takes place in June and July, is shaping up to be one of the biggest events in women's footballing history as 16 nations compete to be crowned European champions. 

    MK Council is one of ten local authorities in the country that will host a vibrant arts programme as part of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 in England this summer.
