Police split up two social events in Milton Keynes as 'stay at home' guidance enforced

Thames Valley Police say they had to split up two social events yesterday as the government's 'stay at home' advice is enforced.

Police Community Support Officers from the Milton Keynes South neighbourhood team were called to reports of a BBQ where members of the same family had arrived from two different estates in Milton Keynes.

The Police took to Facebook to say that the attendees "seemed to think that being from the same family would protect them from the Covid19 virus".

Officers told the visitors to leave and their party ended.

Later, officers were asked to attend another address where neighbours from three separate households, were congregating together at the front of their properties.

Again, they were told to separate.

Police said that "at both of these incidents where the new regulations were explained, we were met with blank looks and a lack of comprehension as to why they could not mix with each other".

Everyone should be staying at home and only going outside for food, health reasons, one form of exercise per day or work (but only if you cannot work from home).
