Police say there is no 'threat' to the Milton Keynes community after boy was approached by man with white van

Police officers are trying to reassure residents that there is no 'threat' to the community following reports of a boy being approached by a man in Wolverton.

This comes after Thames Valley Police shared the news that last night (17/3) an incident was reported in Gloucester Road at around 6.45pm.

It was reported that a boy was approached by a man who spoke to him. The man then got into a white van and drove away.

Little information has been revealed about the exchange but this has prompted a swift response from officers who decided to conduct house to house enquiries to find out further information.

Last night's incident has caused concern in the community, however, officers are saying they believe it does not pose a threat to residents.

A spokesperson for the police force said: "Following a thorough investigation by officers to establish what happened, we would like to reassure local residents that we do not believe that there is a threat to the wider community.

"We are grateful for the public’s support and cooperation whilst we investigated this."

Residents that believe they may have any information about this incident can make a report to the police in confidence.

You can do so by calling 101 or making a report online. Please quote reference number 2031 of 17/3/21.
