Police give Milton Keynes residents advice after a rise in catalytic converter thefts

Thames Valley Police have shared a video of how quickly a catalyst converter can be stolen as reminder to residents to be vigilant.

The theft can take minutes and leave a car written off by insurers.

The Police have advised residents to consider installing CCTV and adding unique markings or serial numbers to the converter itself.

They even advised the public to consider getting the bolts welded on by a mechanic.

They also suggest that when using a car park, parking the front of the car by a wall and not at the end of a row.

Those parking at home should consider using a garage or other ways to prevent access.
