Two planning applications have been lodged for a total of three drive-thru restaurants at Stadium MK.

One site, on a car park north of McDonald’s, would be for a coffee shop, while the other bigger site south of KFC, has been earmarked for two drive-thru restaurants.

There are no names of potential operators on the planning application documents that have been lodged with Milton Keynes Council.

Planning specialist Smith Jenkins is the agent for the applicant, Inter MK.

The company’s Baldip Basi has told the council that coach and car park sites off Saxon Street would be turned into drive thru restaurants to cater for visitors to the stadium, the shops at MK1, and passing trade.

But he says that the proposals are “not intended to divert trade away from any other centre within the borough.”

Mr Basi says access to the new venue north of McDonald’s has been designed to make ensure that vehicles do not block back onto Stadium Way West or V7 Saxon Street.

“The arrangements have been tested and it has been demonstrated that there would be capacity for six vehicles to stack from the drive thru window to the access.

“This meets the operational requirements of the proposed operators.

“The fast turnover for transactions at these establishments also ensures that any short-term queues would dissipate quickly.”

Access to the restaurants south of KFC would be via the stadium’s internal roads.

The plans have been lodged on the Milton Keynes Council website where they are available for public comments.
