A father and mother, whose daughter was sexually assaulted, have shared their family’s experience in the hope that it will help others who may sadly have to report such a crime to the police.
David and Katie, whose names have been changed to protect their daughter’s identity, wanted to share their family’s experiences of the investigation.
They have been featured in a YouTube video, which was published by Thames Valley Police.
It also shares details about Simon Honour, age 55 from the Thames Valley, who was convicted for sexually assaulting their child.
On February 15 2021, Mr Honour pleaded guilty to 11 counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching. He has been sentenced to seven years' imprisonment.
Often the investigation of such crimes can be extremely challenging for victims and their families; Thames Valley Police says it can be difficult for victims to come forward and report it.
