A woman in her sixties was knocked to the floor by six men when she answered the door at her home in Orne Gardens.
At around 6pm on Tuesday, 31 January, the victim, a woman aged in her sixties, was in Orne Gardens, Bolbeck Park, when a man knocked on her front door.
She closed the door on him and said she was alone. A short while later the man knocked on the door again, the victim opened the door and six men rushed passed her. The victim was knocked to the floor and one of the men held her down with a hand over her mouth.
The other men then searched the property and stole cash and jewellery.
The men then left running down Orne Gardens to Lacy Drive.
The offender who came to the door is white, 6ft 2 ins, of large build, with a wide face, wearing a baby blue sweater with a high neck and jeans. He was also wearing fingerless gloves.
The other men were white, with their faces covered. All were wearing dark tops and jogging bottoms or jeans.
Officers attended the scene to respond to the incident. The following day (1/2) while providing a statement to police officers, the victim became unwell and was taken to Milton Keynes University Hospital where she was admitted. She remained in hospital until Saturday (11/2) where sadly she died.
A Home Office Post-Mortem examination took place yesterday (16/2) and, as a result, a murder investigation has been launched. The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a Family Liaison Officer. Formal identification is yet to take place.
Det Insp Andy Shearwood, from Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime unit, said: “Detectives are working to establish the circumstances leading up to how the victim died. I would like to appeal for the public’s help – did you see anything suspicious between the hours of 4pm and 8pm on Tuesday 31 January in Orne Gardens or the surrounding area of Bolbeck Park?
“I would like to appeal to anyone in the community who noticed anyone acting suspiciously, who saw anything out of the ordinary or any vehicles you did not recognise, to contact police. It is believed there are likely to have been between four and six men ‘cold calling’ on doors in the area."
Supt Gez Chiariello, Local Police Area Commander for Milton Keynes, said: “I appreciate incidents of this nature can be concerning and upsetting for people in the community. People locally may notice an increased police presence in the area and anyone who has any concerns, or any information, can approach and speak to an officer.
