Monday's Coronavirus Update: No accurate case data for Milton Keynes but three more deaths

Public Health England has changed the way it records coronavirus tests in Milton Keynes meaning that there is currently no accurate case data available for Monday.

On the Government website, it currently states that zero people have tested positive for coronavirus in Milton Keynes within twenty-four hours.

This is a big change from Sunday's figure of 97 new cases.

But Public Health England has changed the way it records people's locations, meaning that someone's address at the point of testing is recorded rather than the address on their formal record.

This has affected the data in Milton Keynes, and because the change in data has been backdated to 1st September, the total number of cases has now dropped.

Milton Keynes now has a total number of 2,924 cases since the pandemic began compared to Sunday's figure of 2,960.

And it is unknown how many cases were recorded yesterday. It is expected that the number will be greater than zero, especially because 172 cases were recorded over the weekend.

Nationally, 21,363 cases were recorded on Monday and a further 213 deaths.

Three of these covid-linked deaths were sadly in Milton Keynes.

And Milton Keynes Council has announced that the number of infections per 100,000 people is 145 per week.

MKFM previously stopped reporting on coronavirus cases due to the lack of testing, and possible misrepresentation of cases within the community, but now that there are more tests available we have decided to provide frequent updates.

We provide the data given to us by Public Health England, and unfortunately this does not cover the number of people who have recovered/left hospital.
