Monday's Coronavirus Update: 45 new cases in Milton Keynes

There have been 45 new coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes within the past twenty-four hours.

This takes the total number of positive cases to 2,170 since the start of the pandemic.

Nationally, there have been 18,950 confirmed cases within the past twenty-four hours and 136 patients have died.

This comes as the country is preparing to enter a month-long lockdown this Thursday (5/11).

Cllr Pete Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes Council, has since said the community must "pull together" to make it through. He added: "People should not panic, please don’t bulk buy and don’t spend the next few days mixing in groups that will increase the infection rate in the next couple of weeks and mean we take longer to come out of lockdown. The new lockdown is difficult and I believe it was entirely avoidable, however we must now all pull together again for each other."

MKFM previously stopped reporting on coronavirus cases due to the lack of testing, and possible misrepresentation of cases within the community, but now that there are more tests available we have decided to provide frequent updates.
