MK Street Food Collective delivers meals to staff at Milton Keynes Hospital

Today (24/4), Sizzlers Street Food and belistore, part of MK Street Food Collective, donated meals to workers at Milton Keynes Hospital.

230 meals were created by Sizzlers Street Food and 400 chocolate brownies were produced by local Pastry Chef and events caterer, Rich Reynolds, at belistore.

Rich Reynolds, from belistore, said: “We’re thrilled to be part of this amazing initiative which serves to support a number of valuable assets within the Milton Keynes community. I’ve been incredibly troubled by the impact of the Coronavirus crisis on my friends and fellow food traders as well as the hardworking staff on the frontline within the NHS, so donating a few of our signature chocolate brownies seemed like the least we could do.”

MK Street Food Collective's initiative is being run to show appreciation for the hard-working front line staff at the hospital, as well as supporting the local businesses who have had their incomes cut by the COVID-19 crisis.

Chris Biggs, from Sizzlers Street Food, added: “I’m so proud to be involved in this project. The last few weeks have hit us all hard and everyone is struggling in various ways but the way everyone is rallying together – including our suppliers is truly humbling. Thank you!”

Several local food traders have contributed to the project to date. These include Saf's KitchenGood Times Cafe UK & Mr&mrs fitz fabulous food – all providing food under the initiative, along with Milton Keynes Street Food Collective members Baja Cantina, belistore & Sizzlers Street Food - fellow members Taco ShackThe Rub - Wood Smoked BBQHilltop CateringThe Little Oven Of Joy Waffles on WheelsBokkie & Bandit Street Food are all lined up to do the next few weeks of deliveries which should see the total number of food items supplied exceed 2000.

While the MK Street Food Collective is not charging for the provision of these meals, they are asking for donations to ensure they can continue to make them.
