Milton Keynes Theatre to reopen and host socially-distanced pantomime this Christmas

It has been today (28/10) announced that Milton Keynes Theatre will be reopening to host a socially-distanced pantomime this Christmas.

ATG made the announcement this afternoon stating that three venues across the country, including Milton Keynes Theatre, will be hosting the new shows.

This means that between December 2020 and January 2021, Sleeping Beauty will be the first production shown at the local theatre after many months of closure.

Milton Keynes Theatre, similar to other arts venues across the country, has been struggling financially due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And The National Lottery and Qdos Entertainment will be providing financial support to bring staff back to the much-loved venue and ensure that the festive production can go ahead.

Milton Keynes Theatre will comply with UK Theatre’s See it Safely guidelines and the Government Performing Arts Working Safely guidelines.

Customers will be contacted just ahead of their visit to confirm details so that they can be confident that the venues will be operating in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines (including eTickets, timed entry, specific entrance/exit points, compulsory face coverings, refreshments delivered to seats, contactless payments and hand sanitiser stations).

Up to 20,000 free tickets to pantomimes across the country, including in Milton Keynes, will be made available to National Lottery players to thank them for making it possible for this Christmas tradition to go ahead.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty at Milton Keynes Theatre will go on general sale at 10am on Friday 6 November with priority booking for ATG Theatre Card holders and customers who held tickets for the previously advertised 2020 pantomime.

Casting will also be announced next week - MKFM will keep you updated with further details!

Sleeping Beauty will be staged at Milton Keynes Theatre from Saturday 19 December 2020 until Sunday 10 January 2021.
