Supermarkets in Milton Keynes have reportedly been giving gifts to residents to brighten spirits

Residents have reported that local supermarkets, including Tesco and Asda, are giving gifts to shoppers to brighten spirits.

Today, a local resident took to a popular community Facebook group to share the news that Tesco was handing out bouquets of flowers to pensioners during the protected hour.

"All those unsold mother's Day bouquets", she said. "Rather than bin them they are bringing a little cheer to our elderly. Little gestures like these mean so much at the minute. Well done Tesco!"

Another MK local responded to the post, stating that she had received a bouquet of flowers from staff in Asda.

Then, another person followed suit, saying "Second this!! I went to Sainsbury's local in Brooklands this morning.. when paying the manager gave me this [a soft toy].. regardless that they were probably going to be thrown, it put a smile on my face!"

Residents have been commending the supermarkets for the kind gestures.
