Milton Keynes still ranking well despite changes to recycling system

According to new figures, Milton Keynes is ranked 64th for percentage of household waste recycled.

Despite the controversial changes to the recycling system in Milton Keynes, the region is still ranking well.

Milton Keynes Conservatives say the new click and collect system for getting hold of more recycling sacks should be trashed with just nine out of the network of 48 town and parish council offices having so far signed up to be pick up points.

Research has revealed the rankings of all 353 regions in the UK on both percentage of household waste sent for recycling and household waste created per person.

Milton Keynes ranks 64th by recycling 51.7% of waste. The amount of waste being created, however, is one of the highest with 459.8kg per person ranking MK at 322nd.
