Milton Keynes scouts take part in virtual camping trip during lockdown

Beavers and Cubs from Loughton Scout Group virtually camped last weekend, and went on a 'space adventure'.

Over 80 children from the group took part, with the attendees being encouraged to pack a bag before heading on the mission. The scouts made rockets at home using balloons and bottles, made telescopes, and built solar systems whilst learning about the planets.

Each activity contributed to the scouts' badges ranging from Space and Astronomer to Cooking and Nights Away.

A spokesperson for Loughton Scout Group said: "We have all had a great weekend and it has been overwhelming seeing all the great rockets and also all the food was certainly making me hungry. We would like to thank all the families for helping us on this special mission. Also huge thanks to all the leaders and helpers that have made this weekend happen."
