Milton Keynes residents urged to keep an eye out as Annual Canvass begins

The Council updates the register of electors every year using the details from the Annual Canvass.

The annual canvass ensures that the council can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.

Emails and canvass forms are gradually being sent to every household giving details of what information is currently held on the Electoral Register at that property.

Not everyone will get an email initially, and all other properties will receive a canvass form at the end of July.

Emails will be sent from milton.keynes.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk.

If your name doesn't appear on the message, you should add it and then register online here

People who have moved recently are particularly encouraged to look out for the voter registration messages from Milton Keynes Council and check the details.

Research by the Electoral Commission suggests that recent home movers are far less likely to be registered than those who have lived at the same address for a long time.

Across Great Britain, 92% of people who have been at their property for more than sixteen years will be registered, compared to 36% of people who have lived at an address for less than one year.
