Unexploded artillery found in Milton Keynes town

    MKFM understands gravediggers in Milton Keynes found the unexploded ordnance at a cemetery.

    Evacuations have been made in the Fenny Stratford area of Milton Keynes after an unexploded ordnance was found at off Manor Road in Fenny Stratford today (15/3).

    Officers were first called at around 8:15am this morning, following reports that an unexploded ordnance had been found.

    It is understood that gravediggers found the artillery in the cemetery.

    Residents have reported being evacuated from their homes nearby.

    Police are currently on scene with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and a controlled explosion is set to take place shortly.

    Police told MKFM "Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD) are on scene to make it safe. A controlled explosion will be taking place nearby at Manor Fields.

    "Road closures that were in place have since been lifted.

    "Thank you for everyone's patience whilst we deal with this."
