Milton Keynes MP Mark Lancaster to continue as Minister under Boris Johnson

Milton Keynes North MP Mark Lancaster will continue in his role as Minister of State for the Armed Forces under the new Boris Johnson government.

Mr Lancaster made the announcement on Twitter, adding that "it's a real privilege to work with the outstanding servicemen and women who give so much to our country."

It comes as Prime Minister Johnson continues to make further ministerial appointments this evening.

Mr Lancaster was congratulated on his appointment by former Labour parliamentary candidate for Milton Keynes Andrew Pakes, who said: "Congratulations to Mark Lancaster on his reappointment as a Defence Minister. We don’t always agree in politics but his passion for the armed forces has always shone through."

There is currently no news on the role of Milton Keynes South MP Iain Stewart, who served in the Whips office under Theresa May.
