Milton Keynes Council's city clean up continues

At Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting additional funding of £100,000 was allocated for the Council’s city-wide clean-up plans.

More estates have been added to plans for deep cleans over the next year, with Stantonbury, Bradville, Fullers Slade and Beanhill all set to receive work to tackle problem areas in the estates.

Cllr Martin Petchey, Labour councillor for Stantonbury ward, said: “After hearing from local residents in my ward I donated half of my 2019/20 councillor budget to a Bradville clean-up.

“I’m glad to see that our Labour-led Council has listened to local people’s concerns and gone one step further by allocating more funding to include Stantonbury & Bradville in the city-wide clean up.”

Clean up activities will include clearing overgrown landscaping, tackling weed infested footpaths, litter picking and action on the rat population.

Cllr Hannah O’Neill, Labour councillor for Woughton & Fishermead, said: “MK Council are committed to getting the basics right and this additional funding will help us to continue to meet this commitment.”

“I’m delighted to see Beanhill has been added to the list of estates and that it will receive a clean-up alongside neighbouring Netherfield & Coffee Hall. I know this will be very welcomed by residents there.
