Milton Keynes Council is working with Thames Valley Police to tackle high levels of anti-social behaviour in Bletchley.
Granby Court in Bletchley has been suffering from serious anti-social behaviour problems, with consistent calls made to the police about crime and ASB. Although patrols of the area are carried out regularly on foot, this hasn’t proved to be enough of a deterrent.
Milton Keynes Council is partnering with Thames Valley Police to install permanent CCTV at the Granby Court flats to act as a deterrent to criminal activity but also provide vital, quality CCTV footage in the event of a crime or incident taking place.
Cllr Elaine Wales (Lab, Bletchley Park) said: “Granby Court has been a hotspot for anti-social behaviour for some time and it is a concern to residents, the Council and Thames Valley Police.”
She continued: “I’m pleased to see that the Council is working closely with the Police to find a permanent deterrent to crime in the area and hope that this will lead to a decrease in ASB and improve the lives of local residents.”
Milton Keynes Council says they are committed to "getting the basics right" and tackling anti-social behaviour across the city, providing funding for mobile CCTV to reduce ASB and fly tipping across the city.
