Milton Keynes Council will provide emergency accomodation for the homeless until Monday

The Severe Weather Emergency Protocol for rough sleepers has been extended until Monday 17th January.

This follows the severe weather in Milton Keynes, with overnight temperatures set to reach below zero degrees Celsius over the next few days.

The original SWEP was launched on January 5th but has now been extended.

A Sever Weather Emergency Protocol is put in place when rough sleepers will need temporary accommodation due to the plummeting weather. Emergency accommodation is provided by the rough sleeper team during these protocols.

Milton Keynes Council said on Facebook: "The Council’s Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) has now been extended until Monday 17 January. Emergency accommodation is available for all rough sleepers in MK."

The Council’s Rough Sleeping Team can be reached on 01908 253481 and roughsleeperteam@milton-keynes.gov.uk
