Milton Keynes Council partners with MK Food Bank Xtra to provide emergency half term support

Milton Keynes Council is working with MK Food Bank Xtra to support vulnerable families this half term.

Milton Keynes Council and MK Food Bank had already extended their Food Bank Xtra partnership until March 2021, in response to the increased support required by people all over MK caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through this partnership they’ve provided thousands of food parcels to those in need over the last 8 months. In response to the decision by the Government not to extend the free school meal voucher scheme into the upcoming school holidays they will be providing emergency additional provision this half term.

Families with school age children who are in need, will be able to access support from MK Food Bank Xtra, and the Council have made additional funding available for fresh fruit to be included in each food parcel.

If you are in need, or would like to make a donation to MK Food Bank Xtra you can find out more on their website: www.mkfoodbank.org.uk.
