Milton Keynes Council is searching for new support works to join their team in assisting local homeless people who are sleeping rough.

The role is part-time and will allow you to assist local residents who have experience of rough sleeping, rough sleeping lifestyles and homelessness.

The salary ranges from £20,493 to £21,748.

If you are interested, you can apply by completing the application before 31/07 - which can be accessed by clicking here.

The Council recently received an additional £1,233,897 to help provide local support for rough sleeper as part of a government initiative.

The Rough Sleeping Initiative was launched in 2018 to help local areas provide tailored services to those living on the streets. With the recent investment, the government has now allocated almost £400 million to 281 councils through the programme – which supports coordinated projects across areas including housing, mental health, addiction support and domestic abuse.

As a result of this programme, it is estimated that the number of people sleeping rough across England has fallen for the third year in a row, and by roughly 37% in the last year alone.
