The free festival offered a captivating blend of media, music and movement, with special light shows and star studded performances in a celebration of city status.

On Saturday 8th October, thousands of Milton Keynes residents gathered in Central Milton Keynes for a FREE festival to celebrate city status.

Eurovision runner up and Tiktok star Sam Ryder took to the stage with a line-up of local acts as well as performances from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ibiza Orchestra.

Across the city, at Church of Christ the Cornerstone, the Hub and other locations - parades and light displays also took place.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Milton Keynes had officially won city status, following three previous unsuccessful applications.

The announcement came as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The City of Codes & Lights Festival is an annual event organised by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture in a bid to bring the community together.
