Milton Keynes-based school amongst the few hundred schools in the WORLD to receive prestigious Microsoft accreditation

A local school is one of the few hundred across the globe to receive prestigious Microsoft accreditation.

Denbigh School, a secondary school in Shenley Church End, has been recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School for the 2020 – 21 academic year.

The School has held this accreditation since 2018 and it means that it is only one of 48 schools in the UK and one of 325 schools across the world to be part of this international learning community.

This year during the pandemic, the School has needed its learning environment to be as technologically advanced and adaptable as possible to allow its students to access their learning from home if they have been isolating or in full lockdown.

Andrea Frame, Head of School at Denbigh, said: "Our continued recognition as a Microsoft Showcase school is down to the drive and passion our staff have to create the most flexible, technologically advanced learning environment for our students. This is especially important as we navigate the ‘new normal’ in terms of student learning during the pandemic."

Andy Squires, CEO of the Denbigh Alliance Trust, who has been involved with Microsoft Showcase status since the initial accreditation, added: "We value Denbigh’s Microsoft Showcase status greatly for what it brings to the Trust as a whole. In these unprecedented times we have been able to share technological expertise and ideas across the Trust in terms of how we use Microsoft products including, Office365, Teams, OneNote and Forms. We are delighted that Watling Academy has been accepted into the Microsoft Showcase Schools Incubator Programme with a view to following Denbigh in becoming a fully-fledged Showcase School in time."
