Lloyds Banking Group has today (23/3) announced it is set to close branches across the UK.

60 locations will be closing in total.

24 Lloyds Bank sites, 19 Bank of Scotland locations and 17 Halifax branches are set to be affected, Milton Keynes has not been listed as one of the locations that will see a closure.

It is believed the closures are following a growth in customers using online banking.

Vim Maru, group retail director of Lloyds Banking Group told Sky News: "Just like many other high street businesses, fewer customers are choosing to visit our branches.

"Our branch network is an important way for us to support our customers, but we need to adapt to the significant growth in customers choosing to do most of their everyday banking online."

The Unite union has said that 124 jobs are at risk.

Last week, HSBC announced closures taking place across 69 of its UK branches, again, Milton Keynes remains unaffected.
