Milton Keynes appears in UK's Top 20 most creative places

    New research from CBRE property consultants has revealed that Milton Keynes is one of the top 20 most creative places in the UK.

    The locations appearing in the Top 20 have been identified as having the key ingredients required to progress and develop as future destinations for the creative industries (including publishing, film, TV, media, digital, computer programming and information services).

    Milton Keynes appears at number 19 on the list of UK locations, with the number 1 spot being occupied by Manchester.

    Our city has fought of competition from places like Cardiff, Portsmouth and Leicester to claim the position in the new research.

    Releasing the data, CBRE said "Common characteristics of successful creative talent markets include large concentrations of creative businesses and professionals, deep talent pools of highly educated graduate populations, large and growing millennial populations, good transport connections, quality of life and proximity to world class universities with strong research and computer science ratings."

    From a wider regional perspective, the East and South East dominates with 11 of the Top 25 creative talent locations.

    CBRE commented that "Although the East and South East are generally more expensive for house prices, office rents and pay, there are higher concentrations of creative industries companies and employment here. Strong transport links and connectivity to London are undoubtedly contributing factors."

    The full Top 20 consisted of (in order) Manchester, Reading, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Glasgow, Oxford, Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton, Leeds, Belfast, Southampton, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield, Newbury, Bracknell, Liverpool, Milton Keynes and Cardiff.
