Midsummer Place spreads a message of kindness this Christmas

This festive season, Midsummer Place is embracing the spirit of ‘kindness’ with the release of its heartfelt Christmas short film.

In the video, released this week, a young girl in a red coat enters the shopping centre with her grandfather with one single purpose – to hand out messages of kindness and positivity. As she skips through Midsummer Place, she approaches strangers and hands them a red hand-written note. Their genuine reaction is captured on camera and forms part of the story.

After spreading joy to others, the film ends with the little girl sat on the bench with her grandfather and hands him a note that says; “I miss nanny too. I love you xx”. The shot fades out with the two in a heart-warming hug.

The message is clear: kindness is the greatest gift we can give. “Kindness costs nothing, but means everything,” says Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager at Midsummer Place. “At a time of year when life gets busy and the pressure to find the perfect gift is high, we wanted to remind everyone that the greatest gift we can give is compassion, connection and human kindness.”

The video has already received thousands of views and comments and can be seen on Instagram here: Instagram or on Facebook here: (20+) Facebook

Midsummer Place invites everyone — shoppers, retailers, families, and friends — to join in this mission. “Whether it’s a smile, a helping hand, or simply being present,” McGiff adds, “every small act can make a big difference.”
