Meet the Milton Keynes man who is getting an MBE for his work with local charity Ride High

A Milton Keynes man has been given an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list for his work with city charity Ride High.

Alan Oddie, who co-founded the charity 12 years ago, has been working quietly but tirelessly behind the scenes to help change the lives of 1000’s of children ever since.

Ride High is a registered charity based in Loughton which aims to help disadvantaged children, by giving them the opportunity to learn to ride and look after horses and ponies.

Sharing the news on social media, a Ride High spokesperson said: "Ride High simply would not be what it is today without Alan, and we cannot think of a more worthy recipient of such an honour."

"Congratulations Alan - we’re so proud and so fortunate to have you."
