Taylor Wimpey has donated £870 to help offset fees for the Thursday and Farmers’ Market traders in Olney this November.
Taylor Wimpey donated via Olney Town Council, who have since allocated a discount to each of the market traders, reducing their overall costs for the month.
Sarah Kennedy, Acting Town Clerk at Olney Town Council, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for their generous donation and important contribution towards the Olney markets.
“Markets are at the heart of local communities and play an important part in the economy of our local area by bringing visitors to the high street. It is vital that we keep markets open, and provide communities with access to a whole variety of quality food and products.”
A recent survey conducted on behalf of Barclaycard, suggests that around 64% of Brits are choosing to shop closer to home to support smaller and independent businesses*, highlighting a shift in consumers' behaviour to shop local.

Taylor Wimpey’s donation to Olney Town Council is one of the many contributions being made by the housebuilder towards communities in the wider area.
