Man suffers burns to hands and face after fire at flats in Milton Keynes this afternoon

    A man has been left with burns to his hands and face following a fire at some flats in Milton Keynes this afternoon.

    Emergency services rushed to the blaze at the building on Meads Close in New Bradwell at just after 3.30pm this afternoon.

    Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reels, four sets of breathing apparatus and a turntable ladder to tackle the blaze.

    One flat was severely damaged by fire and smoke and the remainder of the building was damaged by smoke.

    A total of seven fire appliances and crews from West Ashland, Broughton, Newport Pagnell and Buckingham attended the scene.

    The man who suffered burns was left in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

    An investigation is now set to be held into the cause of the fire.
