Man jailed over bicycle thefts

A man has been jailed after being convicted in connection with bicycle thefts.

Jason Fullbrook, aged 49, of Conniburrow Boulevard, Milton Keynes, received a total of 14 weeks in prison following a hearing at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Fullbrook was convicted of one count of theft of a pedal cycle at Xscape, Milton Keynes on 7 October 2017, one count of taking a pedal cycle without consent in Midsummer Boulevard on 11 November 2017 and one count of going equipped for theft at Food Centre on 21 February 2018.

He was also ordered to pay compensation of £250 in relation to the theft on 7 October.

Fullbrook was also subjected to a Criminal Behaviour Order for two years.

The order prohibits him from entering Central Milton Keynes, except to attend planned appointments, attending any public bicycle sheds or bicycle racks within Milton Keynes and from entertaining Milton Keynes Railway Station.

Investigating officer PC David Smith of the Neighbourhood Policing problem solving team said: “The outcome at this hearing is a good result for the communities in Milton Keynes.

“This was part of a police operation at the end of last year looking at the thefts of pedal cycles in Milton Keynes.

“Based on the evidence, Fullbrook has also been given a Criminal Behaviour Order to try and prevent him from committing further offences.

“We will look to use the powers we have to assist both the victim and the offender.”
