Male in hospital following injury at Santander construction site in Milton Keynes

MKFM understands a man was seriously injured at the site of the new Santander building earlier on today (04/02).

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service told MKFM that they were called to Grafton Street to reports of a male who had sustained serious injuries.

Multiple ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and Thames Valley Air Ambulance all attended the call.

The patient was treated at the scene for his injuries and was then taken to Milton Keynes Hospital.

MKFM reached out to the site's main contractors, John Sisk & Son who have said that the male involved was a sub-contractor. The spokesperson told us that the sub-contractor was involved in a workplace incident and has suffered a broken bone in the leg.

The construction site is soon to be a £150m state-of-the-art campus, which will become Santander's new UK headquarters.

The HQ is scheduled to open its doors in 2023.
