Look back: Seven years this week since huge fire hit Newport Pagnell warehouse

It is seven years this week since a huge fire hit a warehouse in Newport Pagnell, which thankfully caused no injuries.

On 15th January 2014, the Liebherr Distribution Centre in Newport Pagnell was on fire and it took local fire crews over 24 hours to completely put out the blaze.

People living in the area were told to keep their windows closed due to the fear of "poisonous gases" from the blaze and nearby residents were also evacuated.

20 people were in the building at the time of the blaze, and all managed to leave safely and be accounted for.

At the peak, 60 firefighters and over 10 fire engines were in Newport Pagnell from fire stations across the area to help put out the fire. Smoke from the blaze was visible from as far away as Leighton Buzzard.

An inquiry by the Fire Service found the fire started accidentally.
