London Northwestern Railway has partnered up with the Milton Keynes-based Winter Night Shelter to help 'spread awareness'.

Train operators London Northwestern Railway have been working with Winter Night Shelter MK in a bid to share the work that the charity does.

The Winter Night Shelter Milton Keynes is a year-round charity helping many different people at their point of crisis. They began operating as a response to urgent need when, during the severe winter of 2010, Milton Keynes Council became aware of a number of homeless people sleeping in bin stores and such places in central Milton Keynes, despite freezing temperatures and thick snow on the ground.

They offer support the homeless, vulnerable and those with mental health struggles in Milton Keynes by providing temporary emergency accommodation, a dedicated welfare team providing year-round support and links to support agencies.

With the Winter Night Shelter, London Northwestern Railway have wrapped 12 station planters at Milton Keynes Central Station, to tell a story of what the charity offers.

A spokesperson for London Northwestern Railway has said: "To help tackle homelessness, partnering with the Winter Night Shelter MK we are helping spread awareness of all the amazing work they do to help vulnerable people."

QR codes are labelled on the planters, allowing people to donate to the charity too.
