A Milton Keynes Co-op store manager has taken on Mount Everest in order to raise money for a local charity.
Brad Malkin, store manager of Monkston Park's Co-op, is taking part in Everest base camp to raise money for local MK Charity Harry's Rainbow.
Harry's Rainbow support children and young people in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling. As well as providing information and guidance on their website and social networking sites, they provide various bereavement support services. These include regular support groups, activities and trips, and individual tailored support, as appropriate.
Brad chose to support this charity as it is something very close to his heart, after losing his dad at a young age and has set himself a target of £5,000.

Everest Base Camp is one of the world’s most adventurous treks, taking almost two weeks and reaching some of the highest points.

As Brad reached Everest Base Camp on day 5, he said: "That was such a hard day. Set out at 0730 and got back at 1630. To have completed it now makes me so proud and shows its mind over matter when doing it for something you care about”.
