Milton Keynes MPs Ben Everitt and Iain Stewart have been lobbying the Government for a new Maternity and Children’s Hospital in the city.

Both the Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Health Secretary Matt Hancock visited Milton Keynes University Hospital in the months before lockdown to meet the leadership team.

Earlier this week Ben met with the Matt Hancock to further press the case for the new hospital and believes it is needed to keep up with the demands of Milton Keynes' growth.

Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, commented: “As Milton Keynes continues to grow we need to have health care that can cope with the needs of the city and a brand new Maternity and Children’s Hospital would do just that.

“It was excellent to have a really constructive meeting with the Health Secretary earlier this week and I know the hospital have some exciting plans if we can get the go ahead.”

Iain Stewart, the MP for Milton Keynes South, said: “Ben and I have been actively lobbying for this investment in the future of MK Hospital. I was delighted that the Prime Minister visited the hospital himself before lockdown to meet the leadership team and discuss their development plans.”
