Local entertainment company launches virtual pub quiz to raise funds for charity

The Comedy Cow is hosting a pub quiz tonight (10/3) which will be live-streamed straight to your home.

The event, which is completely free, is also calling for donations on The Comedy Cow's GoFundMe page. The winners of the quiz can choose a charity to donate the money to, with the first virtual pub quiz raising £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Samaritans.

The first live-streamed quiz was played by over 3000 people. James Redmond, known for his roles in Hollyoaks and Casualty, hosted the event. And tonight, The Comedy Cow Pub Quiz is back to keep residents entertained whilst in isolation.

Ben Robinson, from The Comedy Cow, told Destination MK: "We only did this really just for a bit of fun. Things are extremely tough for everyone at the moment and we just wanted everyone to join in and have a good time.

"We were delighted to be able to raise such a good amount for charity too, as in these difficult times, we're sure their funding will be under a lot of pressure too."

Players can either watch it live on The Comedy Cow's Facebook page whilst filling out an electronic mark sheet, or apply to play via Zoom meaning that you will appear on the screen.

There will be a winner on both the Facebook team and the Zoom team. The prize pot will be split 50/50 between the two winners chosen charities.

The Comedy Cow Pub Quiz will start at 19:45 tonight (10/4). Players can participate by watching the live stream on either Facebook or Zoom. Find out more here.
