Local chefs to deliver free meals to NHS workers and over 65's in self-isolation

The MK based chefs, The Brothers' Supper, will deliver a free meal to over 65's in self-isolation and NHS workers to ensure they eat a good meal during this uncertain time.

"We are hoping to offer this service for a few reasons," said Shane, one of the chefs. "The first being that the NHS staff consistently go on without any reward or acknowledgement for their work, and at this tough time are going above and beyond and working extra long hours - if they’re struggling to catch a break, too tired to cook, we would love to do the work for them."

"The next reason is that those who are self-isolating, elderly may not have the means or resources to cook or obtain food, you only have to step into a supermarket to see the shelves are bare."

The Brothers' Supper has a brand new fully equipped kitchen and wants to put it to good use. Shane added: "So we have the kitchen, have the food and just want to make a positive impact in our community."

At the moment, the chefs are planning to deliver food to those in need on a Monday and Thursday. "For now we would just like those in need to reach out to us or anyone else offering their help," concluded Shane.

Aside from offering a free meal to over 65's in self-isolation and NHS workers, the brothers are offering corporate lunch drop-offs, breakfast/brunch collection and delivery from their kitchen in Tongwell, and evening meal drop-offs. A Mother's Day drop-off roast option is also available so mothers can "still feel like queens on their special day of the year".
