All lanes have now re-opened and queues have cleared on the M1 Southbound following a multi-vehicle collision earlier this afternoon.
Two lanes were closed between J13 at Milton Keynes South and J12 for the A5120 at Flitwick.
Average speeds in the area were down to just 17mph with motorists advised to avoid the area.
Initial reports of the incident were received at just after 2.30pm this afternoon, with the lane closures being removed at around 3.45pm.
Highways England Traffic Officers and the Police were at the scene.
