Leading homebuilder supports local charity, The Henry Allen Trust

Barratt Homes has donated £1,000 to The Henry Allen Trust, a Milton Keynes charity dedicated to helping children and families affected by childhood cancer as part of its Community Fund scheme.

The Henry Allen Trust was set up by Dawn and Mark Allen after they tragically lost their four-year old son Henry to childhood cancer in 2013.

Henry’s parents wanted to continue their son’s dream of spreading happiness and providing support to other families battling childhood cancer.

Dawn said: “We were completely overwhelmed when we found out that we were going to receive the Community Fund donation from Barratt Homes. It has made a huge difference to us as we are a small charity, and we receive no government funding so we rely solely on donations.

“All of the funding received goes directly to the families and hospitals we support. We understand that for families, one of the hardest things is keeping a sense of normality.

“Our Treats and Wishes programme provides a much needed reprieve from the seemingly endless hospital visits; giving children the chance to be children again and giving families the opportunity to create memories that they can treasure forever.

“The Community Fund is an amazing opportunity for charities to receive much needed additional funding and to promote awareness that comes with the generosity of such a kind act. Team Henry would like to thank Barratt Homes for their amazing donation to The Henry Allen Trust and supporting us, it means the world.”

Andrew Swindell, Regional Managing Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “We are so pleased to be able to support The Henry Allen Trust and the fantastic work they are doing.

“It is important to us a leading housebuilder to recognise and support local charities and organisations who help the communities near our developments.”
