Investigation launched as motorcyclist dies after collision on Milton Keynes road

    An investigation has been launched after a motorcyclist died as a result of a collision on the V8 Marlborough Street.

    The tragic incident took place on Wednesday evening (16/6) at approximately 19:15.

    It occurred when a collision between a blue Jaguar XJ and a black Honda CB1000 motorcycle took place at the junction for Waterside, Peartree Bridge.

    The rider of the black Honda CB1000 motorcycle, a 24-year-old man from Milton Keynes, sustained serious injuries and subsequently sadly died at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

    A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

    "An investigation into how the collision occurred has begun and a specialist officer will be assigned to support the family."

    As a result, Thames Valley Police Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.

    Investigating Officer Police Sergeant Daniel Collett of the Roads Policing Team at Milton Keynes police station said: “This incident, sadly, resulted in the death of a young man.

    “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or may have any social media pictures or video footage of the collision to contact us.

    “We also urge any drivers who may have dash cam footage both of the lead up to the collision, or the collision itself to get in contact with us by calling 101, asking for Thames Valley Police and quoting reference 43210264980.”
