Indie film produced and filmed in Milton Keynes set for summer release

Roundabouts, a short comedy film, was shot in the city centre and is set for festival release later this year.

The film follows a boyfriend who is desperate to propose to his girlfriend on a romantic night out in Milton Keynes.

"As he navigates the city via every film genre conceivable, can he finally get around to popping the question before his girlfriend completely loses the plot?"

The film features numerous landmarks across the city, including The Odeon, The Point, Milton Keynes Theatre, Westbury Arts Centre amongst other MK spots.

The film has been directed by Central MK resident MJ Dixon, who also runs his own indie horror production company "Mycho Entertainment".

MJ said: "It’s a really exciting project, it’s really explores so many different genres of film and the script by Grant Kempster is incredibly good, heart-warming and funny.

"Shooting in Milton Keynes was a fun experience, taking places we wander by everyday and making a feature of them in the narrative really reminds you of what an interesting town we live in.”

The film is expected to be released in the summer, as the film festival season looks to return after COVID 19.
