Hugely popular sunflower farm in Milton Keynes prepares to reopen for summer season

The Patch MK, which transforms into a picturesque sunflower farm during the summer months, will be opening on Tuesday (27/7).

The large farm, just along the A422 by Deanshanger, is known for being full of pumpkins in Autumn and sunflowers in Summer.

Five different varieties of sunflowers have been planted this year, meaning that there are thousands of sunflowers to see. New for this year, the farm's owners Joe and Roz have also sown over 30 different varieties of wildflowers

In recent years, The Patch MK has quickly transformed into a hotspot for people to attend and take photographs for professional shoots and social media.

Victoria, who is behind the beauty blog 'inthefrow', has been known to frequent The Patch MK throughout the Autumn and Summer seasons.

Aside from the sunflowers themselves, other photo opportunities at The Patch MK include an 8ft heart, 15ft balloon sculpture, vintage combine harvester, butterfly wings, a cast-iron gate within the wildflowers and a viewing platform.

The Patch MK is also known for being a hit with families, as it has barrel train rides, hay bales to climb, 'slide land' and a den-building area.

There will be food on sale while The Patch MK is open, including American-style pancakes, barista coffee, slow-cooked meats, fresh sweetcorn, ice cream and cakes.

On selected weekend dates, The Pegasus Bar will be open serving local beer, Pimm's, wine and a selection of other drinks.

Tickets are being sold for entry to The Patch MK as space is limited due to the organisers' choice of continuing COVID-19 measures, such as social distancing. You must book a time slot in order to enter the farm and you can do so here.
