History in the making at Newport Pagnell Town Football Club

    Newport Pagnell Town are getting ready for the biggest match in their 53 year history this Saturday.

    Fans of the club are already getting excited for the game this weekend, when the Willen Road ground stages a match against Sunderland RCA in the 5th Round (last 16) of The Buildbase FA Vase, kick-off 3.00pm.

    Around 600 clubs entered The Buildbase FA Vase competition, the final of which will be played at Wembley in May.

    Newport Pagnell Town have reached the last 16 for the first time.

    In the two previous rounds they have beaten the leaders of the South Midlands League Premier Division, London Colney, and the leaders of the United Counties League Premier Division, Peterborough Sports.

    429 spectators watched the 3-2 victory over Peterborough Sports in the fourth round at Willen Road, the club’s second highest attendance for a competitive match. Currently the estimated attendance for this match is 700 and for the first time “fast track” into the ground tickets are being sold prior to the match. Entry prices are £6 adults, £3 concessions, U16 free. Programmes £1.

    The fifth round opponents, Sunderland RCA, are currently in a mid-table position in the Northern League, which is at an equivalent level to the United Counties League in which Newport Pagnell Town play.
