The popular History Festival is returning to Milton Keynes Museum this weekend.
This May, get even closer to the past, with the return of our popular History Festival spanning nearly 2,000 years of history in one weekend.
Visitors can wander around the tent village set up in the Milton Keynes Museum grounds and travel back in time to meet Romans, Vikings, Tudors, Civil War Soldiers, Suffragettes and many more.
Nearly 100 re-enactors will be roaming around the Museum throughout the weekend ready to answer your burning questions about life in the past.
There will also be combat displays and show and tell presentations where you can learn about key moments from British history in a fun and engaging way.
There’s plenty at the Museum to enjoy a full day out, don’t miss visiting the Victorian Farmhouse, buy some sweets from the old Post Office in the Street of Shops and drop by the Telephone Gallery to make a call.
The Museum is set in over five acres of old farmland, so lots of open space to explore. Stop by the War Garden and see what’s starting to grow and see if you can find the secret air raid shelter before stopping off in the Granary Tearoom for lunch or cake.
The Museum will be open from 10.30am – 4.30pm, pay once and it is free all year.
