Fire crews called to storeroom fire at Milton Keynes shopping centre

    Firefighters were called to a shop storeroom in Midsummer Place after a small fire broke out.

    Crews from West Ashland and Broughton, along with one officer, were called to the shop in Midsummer Place at around 5:33pm on Wednesday 2nd February.

    Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue have confirmed that the fire had occurred in a lithium battery bank at the store.

    Customers were evacuated from the shop before crews arrived and firefighters used two sets of breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan

    The batteries were removed from the shop and crews used the positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke.
