Family release statement following sentencing of Milton Keynes man

Following the conviction and sentencing of Mark Croxton, aged 42, of Snowberry Close, Milton Keynes, for the manslaughter of Graham Cox, Mr Cox’s family have released the following statement.

“After 11 long and very sad months, we finally have a conviction."

“Croxton, who is responsible for Graham’s death, left him in the road to die with multiple injuries."

“He will walk the streets again, while my son Graham won’t."

“We would like to thank the support team who have been amazing, keeping us informed of developments and sharing our sadness. Thank you to all."

“We can now finally move forward, sadly without Graham in our lives, but always in our hearts.”

Mark Croxton, aged 42, of Snowberry Close, Stacey Bushes, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Luton Crown Court yesterday (10/5) to a custodial term of four and a half years. Croxton was also disqualified from driving for seven years.

He pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter at the same court on 10 April this year.

The charge is in connection with the death of 46-year-old Graham Cox, who died following an incident in Fen Street, Brooklands on 28 June 2018.

Croxton deliberately drove a car at Mr Cox, causing him serious injuries which required him to be taken to hospital.

He tragically died the next day in hospital as a result of the injuries.

Croxton was arrested the next day, 29 June, and then charged on 19 November last year.

Investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Shearwood, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “This was a terrible incident during which a car was deliberately driven at Mr Cox, causing him serious injuries which resulted in his death."

“I would like to pay tribute to the Mr Cox’s family, who have acted with the utmost dignity throughout the investigation. Mr Cox was a very well loved son, father and grandfather.”
