énergie Fitness and Be Military Fit with Bear Grylls leads National Fitness Day celebrations in Milton Keynes

Today, the UK comes together to mark National Fitness Day, and énergie Fitness in Milton Keynes (Kiln Farm) is doing its bit to help the nation get active.

Bear Grylls, the television adventurer and celebrity explorer, launched the event live and online at 8am alongside énergie Fitness – the original founders of National Fitness Day in 2011 before subsequently gifting it to ukactive in 2014 – who aim to get 50,000 people active this year.

The fitness-focussed day is celebrated by gyms, schools, fitness studios, celebrities and individuals across the country and offers a chance to highlight the important role physical activity plays in daily life, and raise awareness around the importance of leading a healthier and more active lifestyle.

“This year’s National Fitness Day is particularly important following many months of people in lockdown, which has often had both physical and mental implications,” says Rob Francis, Franchisee and Owner at énergie Fitness Milton Keynes (Kiln Farm). “After such a challenging year, there has never been a greater time to get the nation feeling motivated, active and positive.”

As well as activity in the clubs, énergie Fitness is giving members AND non-members FREE access to an extended programme of live online classes for one day only. From a relaxing morning Pilates class to a challenging lunch-time burn and a fast-paced evening HIIT class, énergie’s team of experts will take the classes and expect to see thousands of people join online across the UK.

He adds: “This is a chance to get back out there, feel positive, set a goal and join people from all walks of life in the biggest fitness event of the year. This small change can make a huge difference and we’re here to support every single person each step of the way.”

On the 10th National Fitness Day, énergie Fitness in Milton Keynes (Kiln Farm) will be running a jam-packed timetable of fun indoor, outdoor and online classes between 6.15am and 8pm – including Circuits, Pilates and Absolute Burn – with the offer of brining a friend for free. Classes can be booked online or via the free énergie Fitness app.

As a locally owned business, énergie Fitness Milton Keynes (Kiln Farm) takes the health, safety and wellbeing of its members and staff very seriously.  It recently adopted its ‘Safe Exercise’ plans to ensure the safety of members and staff, while maximising the opportunity for its members to return to fitness. Whilst énergie Fitness has implemented a comprehensive plan of safety and guidelines, its management team has stressed that members must also do their part.

There are four ‘golden’ rules’ members must follow. First and most importantly is for members NOT to come if they feel unwell or have any of the symptoms of COVID-19, such as a fever. Members are asked to maintain safe social distancing from others at all times, and encouraged to wash their hands regularly. Members MUST clean their workout space and equipment with the sanitisation wipes after use and make it clean and safe for the next person.

Franchisee and Owner of the Milton Keynes (Kiln Farm) club, Rob Francis said: “With these strict measures now in place for over a month, we have successfully shown that people can safely return to fitness, and feel good each day. National Fitness Day can be the start of a new you or a new challenge that keeps fitness fun and enjoyable.”

At the club, they offer, not only a fantastic indoor fitness experience with amazing classes, fantastic trainers and some of the best kit and equipment to train with, but also the “World’s best outdoor fitness experience” Be Military Fit (BMF). Bear Grylls, the world famous television celebrity and adventurer, has become one of the owners of the national brand due to his commitment to help get the nation fit again. Bear Grylls recently announced that he is planning a UK-wide workout from Battersea Power Station with BMF, to kickstart National Fitness Day.

Since fitness clubs have reopened, énergie Fitness has welcomed back thousands of existing and new members to its gyms and continues to see confidence in returning members week on week.
